The main social groups we represented was men and women. We used dominant representation of men andd women. The main man was shown to be strong and important and the subject whereas the main woman was shown to be the subject, the victim and less important.
In this screen shot above, the audience can see the man in a suit while working and sat down. Whereas the woman is stood up making a drink for the man. This shows residual ideology of women serving men, again supporting the idea that men are more important.
In the screen shot above, the audience see the woman dead. This shows her as the victim again reinforcing dominant representation. Also, using a run down area shows her as un-important. This is very common in film noirs, as it helps the plot thicken with the relationships between them.
We also used costume to represent this too. The man is wearing a dark suit, this shows him as business like amd cold, unhappy, angry. The woman on the other hand is wearing a red dress, this shows she is a much happier. We decided to keep the colour in to represent her bringing colour into life so it is more effective when she dies.

You could also comment on how representation is linked to genre - these are typical representations for film noir. I think it's also worth discussing the costumes in your film.
