During the preliminary task we learnt many things that we used and developed in the full product. Planning and preparation is very important as it provides a backbone for the final sequence. Planning the product would have been very difficult without doing the preliminary task first. However, the full product planning was more in depth than the preliminary as it required more actors, locations and costumes.

Doing the preliminary task before meant we had an idea of timing and how long filming would take and how long post-production would take, this meant we met deadlines. Also, the preliminary task meant we were more confident using the camera. This meant we had no filming problems and therefore oculd complete the task within the deadlines.
When doing the preliminary task, we only used simple aspects of Premier Pro however in the main task we used more complicated effects. The preliminary task had no specific target audience so we found out during the main task how much a target audience can influence many factors of the film including the plot, costume, shots, music and titles.

The main thing I have learnt is how much editing software can add to the film. During the preliminary task we focused mainly on the shots and continuity whereas making the film we could use effects and sound to add to the film. The uses of post-production can competely change a films effect even with the same shots. I also learnt how much of an effect the target audience have on the film.

It'd be good to illustrate this Emily - some stills from each production, some print screens from Premiere Pro?
